Welcome to the Ruins of Pleocatra! This project is my final draft for my AET 319 Design and Interactivity class for May of 2022. This game has gone through several different iterations but the core ideas and gameplay have largely remained intact. Originally, this concept was based on two different mechanics: growing and shrinking objects. But, with a bit of tweaking and added dynamic discovery, I pushed these ideas to fit with an aesthetic similar to a Wipeout-style reality TV show where you moved across the level dodging obstacles and solving puzzles. However, playtesters quickly told me they felt the visuals didn't mesh with the puzzle sections so I instead tweaked the mechanics and aesthetics to what the game is today: a short level where you explore the ruins of Pleocatra, a long lost leader of a desert society that's ruined kingdom is now buried beneath the sands.
